The Horbury Show once again proved extremely popular with the public of Horbury and from further afield. With a huge attendance, many arriving by car we were hard pushed to get everyone safely into Carr Lodge Park and extremely grateful to many volunteers as well as members of Rotary Club of Ossett and Rotary Club of Wakefield Chantry. It is clear to many of us that without Rotary Clubs supporting each other it is extremely difficult for a single club to put on and manage major events.
Having been the recipients of that support at Horbury Show, it was great 2 weeks later that 14 members of Phoenix were then able to help the RC of Wakefield Chantry and the RC of Huddersfield in mounting their annual Dragon Boat Event at Pugneys Water Park in Wakefield. Phoenix members were involved in many aspects including pre-planning and duties on the day and the spirit of co-operation, support and fellowship was evident to all. Well done Chantry and Huddersfield – we look forward to all working together again
