The Phoenix Rotary Club is one of more than 32,000 Rotary clubs worldwide. We belong to District 1040, which is part of RIBI (Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland). On a worldwide scale RIBI is a member of RI (Rotary International).

Phoenix is a service club whose members meet regularly, both socially and to perform charitable works either by direct hands-on efforts or by raising money for other charitable organisations and worthy causes.

Our largest annual event is the Horbury Show . We also indertake other fund raising events through the year like the Brass Band Concert and Christmas Raffle to primarily raise money for gifts to the old and needy at Christmas time. Our recent environmental projects include bulb planting and working with Treescapes* on the planting of trees to provide wildlife habitat and greener views. They will also help buffer motorway noise and absorb some of the carbon dioxide emissions. So far we have planted near Ossett school and on land which forms part of the roundabout at junction 40 of the M1.
